We're seeking a detail-oriented and creative Product Editor to edit and refine product listings, descriptions, and images for our website and various online marketplaces. In this role, you will work closely with our content, product, and marketing teams to ensure all product content is accurate, engaging, and aligned with our brand’s voice.
As a Product Editor, your primary responsibility will be to edit and optimize product content, ensuring it is consistent, compelling, and easy to understand. You will also collaborate with other departments to update product details, enhance visuals, and make sure that product pages are fully optimized for both SEO and conversion rates.
Key Responsibilities
- Product Description Editing: Edit and refine product descriptions to make them clear, engaging, and persuasive. Ensure that each product’s unique features, benefits, and specifications are effectively communicated.
- Content Optimization: Optimize product listings for search engines (SEO), ensuring the use of relevant keywords and tags to increase visibility and drive traffic.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure product listings are accurate and consistent in terms of formatting, tone, and style. Perform thorough quality checks to minimize errors or inconsistencies.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with the product, marketing, and design teams to gather necessary information and ensure product listings are up-to-date with the latest specifications and visuals.
- Image Review & Optimization: Edit and review product images to ensure they meet quality standards and accurately represent the product. Collaborate with designers to enhance images if needed.
- Content Style & Tone Guidelines: Ensure that all product content adheres to the company’s established style and tone guidelines, maintaining consistency across all product listings.
- Customer Experience: Focus on improving the overall user experience by ensuring that product pages are easy to navigate and informative, addressing potential customer questions and concerns through the product content.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years experience in content editing, copywriting, or eCommerce product management. Experience in a retail or eCommerce environment is a plus.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to catch errors or inconsistencies.
- Proficiency in product information management (PIM) systems or eCommerce platforms like Shopify, WooCommerce, or Magento is a plus.
- Familiarity with SEO best practices, keyword research, and content optimization.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS is a plus for editing product pages. Experience with image editing tools (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Canva) is also a plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with different departments. Nice to Have:
